Put Saturday morning, October 20, on your calendar for the first shawneemissionpost.com Candidate Forum. All of the candidates for State Senate District 7 and State Representative Districts 21, 25 and 19 have accepted the invitation to participate.

The event will be held in Friendship Hall at Village Presbyterian Church, 6641 Mission Road. Coffee will be available at 8:30 a.m. and the forum begins promptly at 9:00 a.m. with the state senate candidates. After a break from 9:45 to 10:00 a.m., we will resume with the state representative candidates until 11:30 a.m. Park on the south side of the church and use the south entrance. Friendship Hall is directly up the stairs.

The discussion will be moderated by the Prairie Village Post and feature questions submitted to us by readers. Although we have sent our usual questionnaire to the candidates already – and their answers will be posted the week following the forum – you can still suggest questions for the live forum. Just send them our way.

The candidates who will be speaking Oct. 20 include Kay Wolf and Kyle Russell for senate district 7;

Amy Bell and Barbara Bollier for state representative district 21; Melissa Rooker and Megan England for state representative district 25; Zach Luea and Stephanie Sawyer Clayton for state representative district 19.

There will be time both before and after the forum to greet the candidates individually.

If you have questions about the district you live in or the location of your polling place, information is available through the Johnson County Election Office site.
