The evening chess camp will meet on Thursdays from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. It starts Sept. 13 and runs to Nov. 15. Another camp will meet during the day on Wednesdays starting Sept. 12 from 10 to 10:45 a.m. The day camp is especially designed for students who are being home schooled.
The chess camps are being taught by Ken Fee who runs the Kansas City Chess Club and is a nationally certified tournament director. Players will learn rules, etiquette, strategies, openings, endgames and tactics. The camps will be held at city hall. Fees for residents or pool members are $75 and $39 for additional siblings. For non-residents the fees are $80 and $44.
