Jamie Lee Curtis coming to Prairie Village for book reading Friday

You’re going to freak when you hear who’s coming to Prairie Village on Friday.

She’s appeared in some of the most enduring films of her era. She’s acted along the likes of Schwarzenegger and Lohan. And soon enough she’ll be at Village Presbyterian Church reading from her latest children’s book.

Fairway’s Rainy Day Books and Head Start of Shawnee Mission are partnering to bring Jamie Lee Curtis to the area this week for a reading from “My Brave Year of Firsts: Tries, Sighs and High Fives.”

“Firsts,” Curtis’s eleventh children’s book, is a collaboration with partner Laura Cornell, and tells the story of a li’l lady named Frankie who shows courage trying new things, like riding a bike, playing with a dog and trying to make new friends.

The admissions package for the event is $18.52 and includes an autographed copy of the book and a family ticket, which grants admission to up to two adults and two children.

You can purchase tickets via the Rainy Day Books website here.

Head Start of Shawnee Mission is also encouraging the community to purchase a copy of My Brave Year of Firsts for a Head Start child by visiting. Find out more via their website.
