The pre-swim parade before last year’s Prairie Village Water Show.

Back from the brink of extinction, the annual Prairie Village Water Show is scheduled to make a triumphant – and thematically timely – return this Sunday.

After nearly having to cancel the season after difficulty finding a coach, the Prairie Village Synchronized Swimming team has been treading diligently for the past several weeks all in preparation for Sunday’s performance, which starts at 8:30 p.m. in the 50 meter lap pool at the Prairie Village Municipal Pool Complex.

The theme, The Beatles: From Liverpool to the Prairie Village Pool, provides an excellent UK-tie in for this oft-forgotten Olympic sport.

Spectators are to enter through the northeast corner of the pool complex, adjacent to the SM East senior parking lot. Seating is on the hill north of the pool, so don’t forget to bring a blanket or lawn chairs.
