Organized relief from the heat at Homestead during MOKAN swim championships

If you were going to have to spend the day outside yesterday, about the best reason would be a swim meet, don’t you think?

Dozens of young swimmers packed the pool at Homestead Country Club Thursday for the finals of the MOKAN Swim League’s 2012 championships.

The City of Mission Swim Club took home the title, besting second place Woodside Health and Tennis. Homestead Country Club took fourth out of six in the teams competition. Meadowbrook Country Club took fifth.

Homestead’s Liv Davidson took the girls 11-12 50 yard breaststroke. Meadowbrook’s Benn Schmatz won the boys 15-14 100 yard breaststroke.
