Belinder third graders on Friday wrapped up an Earth Day recycling project that will keep three tons of paper out of the landfill — and put it back into use within just two weeks.
The project was part of the Belinder GIVES (Growth in Volunteer Experience for Students) program, which encourages kids to enhance their community through volunteering.
The kids partnered with Abitibi Paper Retreiver recycling, which donated give aways, signs, and even the “Pepper the Paper Retreiver Dog” mascot costume (worn well by Belinder student Elliott Bowles, above).
