Olathe South has Lancers’ number again, ends SM East football season

Senior running back Jeff Cole and the Lancers offense couldn't muster enough firepower to overcome Olathe South's big running game.

For the second year in a row, the Olathe South Falcons ended SM East’s football season when they beat the Lancers 55-42 Friday night.

The Falcons, led by the running of Jordan Ward, scored three touchdowns before the Lancers got on the board for the first time. Ward scored five touchdowns for the Falcons.

It was a disappointing night for the Lancer seniors, many of whom were emotional after the game. Senior running back Adam Lowe scored three touchdowns, and senior wide receiver Elliot Faerber, who’s headed to the University of Illinois to play next year, scored twice.

After the game, coach Chip Sherman said he was proud of the team and what they’d accomplished in the face of adversity.

“The seniors have represented the team and the school very well,” Sherman said.
