Fairway to hold final public hearing on 2012 budget tonight

Fairway will hold its final public hearing on its 2012 budget prior to its city council meeting tonight. The hearing begins at 7 p.m. at Fairway city hall.

Fairway held a special forum on its budget process last month during which Finance Committee chair Melanie Hepperly laid out the city’s proposed budget and explained the council’s process. The proposed budget, which holds property taxes level from 2011, received mostly favorable reactions from the residents who attended the meeting.

All Johnson County municipalities are required by law to submit an approved budget to the county by August 25.
