Miege Stags headed to Wichita for state 5A baseball tournament

The Bishop Miege Stags, like their neighbors to the south, have qualified for play in year’s state baseball tournaments.

The Stags took the 5A regional crown with wins over Harmon and St. Thomas Aquinas last week, marking their sixth regional title since 2003

The regional title qualified Miege for the 5A state tournament, which opens tomorrow. The Stags will start their effort for a state crown against 20-2 Hays Friday at 4 p.m. Games will be played at Eck Stadium at Wichita State University.

Miege won the state 5A title in 1996.
