Closed for good: Roney’s a pile of rubble

A backhoe made short work yesterday of the building that housed Roney’s Service Station for nearly six decades.

Piles of brick, concrete, twisted rebar and splintered wood are all that remain of the service desk and garage. And though the crew spent weeks cleaning the facility out, a couple of reminders of Roney’s history sat amid the rubble. Apparently someone enjoyed a can of Coors in the shop one day — we’re guessing sometime in the 70s based on the pull-tab can:
