By all accounts, the first Prairie Village Jazz Festival, held Sept. 11 in Harmon Park, was a big success. The lineup drew praise from critics and more than 5,000 people attended.
But if the event’s organizers have anything to do with it, next year will be bigger and better.
The organizers have put in an application for a $25,000 grant from Pepsi Refresh to help cover the cost of putting on the 2011 Jazz Festival — but to get the grant, their application has to win an online vote. To vote for the project, visit the Pepsi Refresh Web site. You can vote for the Jazz Fest application once a day.
At present, the application is 166th out of 1153 total entries.
