Introducting shawneemissionpost.com’s new classifieds and community forum

Our new classifieds section is a great — and free — way to reach people in the area.

We’re pleased to announce that we’ve launched two new features here at the Prairie Village Post: a free community classifieds section, and a forum where you can discuss the issues that are important to you.

You can access the classifieds and forum through the links on the main nav.

Posting to the classifieds section is totally free — so if you have a car to sell or a bunch of baby gear in the basement you’re looking to get rid of, this is a great way to reach people who live in your area. To post an item for sale, simply click on the appropriate category, type in the item you’re selling and the price in the “Title” field, and add a short description in the “Post” field. It’s also the perfect spot to let your neighbors know if you’re having a garage sale.

The community forum is a place for open discussion of the items making news in northeast Johnson County. Want to see what other football fans think about the Lancers’ offense? Looking for a place to discuss the potential school closings and redistricting in the Shawnee Mission School District? Post a thread on the forum and start a conversation. (Of course, we’d ask that you give our forum rules a reading before you participate).

We’re planning on adding additional features and functionality in the coming months, so if you have suggestions about things you’d like to see us bring to shawneemissionpost.com, don’t hesitate to give us a heads up.
