Local television news stations filed several reports regarding yesterday’s attack on Fontana Street.
Details from the various reports suggest the woman was found stabbed at the bottom of her basement stairs, and required emergency surgery. As of last night, the woman’s condition had stabilized, but she was still not able to communicate with police.
Though many of the stories noted that there was a reported home invasion last week in which the alleged perpetrator was carrying a knife, police stress that at this point the two incidents are being investigated as separate.
“There’s not a lot of similarities, I can tell you that between these two crimes,” Captain Wes Lovett of the Prairie Village Police Department told reporters at a press conference yesterday.
