Police officers and members of the Johnson County Sheriff’s department have put crime scene tape around the yard of a house in the 6800 block of Fontana Street where a 44-year-old woman was found severely injured earlier today.
The Prairie Village Police Department put out the following press release regarding the incident:
On September 8, 2010, at approximately 1208 hours officers were dispatched to the 6800 block of Fontana to check the welfare of a female resident. A co-worker of the 44-year-old female became concerned when she did not come to work. Upon arrival, officers noticed the resident’s car was parked in the driveway. Officers made entry into the home and located the female resident who was suffering from multiple injuries. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The investigation into this incident is continuing.
According to the Kansas City Star, the officers who responded to the call found the woman at the bottom of her basement stairs.
