Corinth Ripple recycling among tops in KC area

Congrats, environmentally conscious Prairie Villagers.

The Ripple Glass recycling receptacle at Corinth Square has taken in a total of 204 tons of glass since being installed in November 2009, making it the second most productive site in the metro area. A bin at 119th and Hardy Streets in Overland Park took top honors with 213 tons.

The bin that was placed at the Prairie Village Shops in March (due to the popularity of the Corinth Square location) has taken in 46 tons.

The vast majority of the glass collected in the Ripple containers is recycled here in the KC area, and then used by Owens Corning to make fiberglass insulation.
