Police further investigating reported home invasion and assault

KCTV 5 ran a report on the alleged break in on Thursday.

The Prairie Village Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the reported assault of a woman early Thursday morning at her home in the 7600 block of Russell Road, near Lamar Ave. At present the incident has no witnesses other than the victim, who called it in.

The police released the following description of the incident shortly after responding to the call:

“A female victim advised that she was startled by a white male wearing a ski mask and armed with a knife in the hallway of her residence. The suspect then physically battered her but she was not struck or harmed by the knife. The suspect then fled the scene in an unknown direction. The victim was transported a local hospital by Med-Act for possible head injuries.”

“The suspect was described as a white male approximately 6 foot tall weighting 185 pounds wearing a black ski mask, black short sleeve shirt, black pants, and black gloves. He was armed with a six inch knife.”
