Fairway to host public budget forum tomorrow

Share this story:

The city of Fairway will be hosting a public forum on its 2011 budget tomorrow at 7 p.m., and is asking residents to provide input to help the governing body make decisions about where to allocate resources.

Here’s a rundown from an email the city sent out:

Preparation of the 2011 City budget has commenced.   Your elected officials and City staff are urging all citizens to get involved and assist us in this process.  Your input and feedback are crucial to the financial decisions and choices we must make for 2011.  Prospects for an economic recovery are uncertain and budgetary constraints remain center stage.  The decisions will inevitably impact property values, the quality of life, and the economic wellbeing of our citizens and community.  Our budget must be crafted to minimize any potential adverse impact.

The budget forum will be held at Fairway City Hall, 4210 Shawnee Mission Parkway, Suite 100. A public hearing on the final version of the budget will be held in August.
