Prairie Village residents: if you felt especially proud this morning and couldn’t put your finger on why, it’s possible you were caught in the great aura of victory emanating from a very large trophy now at city hall.

Yesterday, a foursome made up of Mayor Ron Shaffer, council members Al Herrera and Dale Warman, both of Ward 1, and Interim Director of Public Works Keith Bredehoeft took home top honors at the Northeast Johnson County Chamber of Commerce’s intra-city golf tournament. The team logged a 10-under score of 62 (…in a shotgun format, but still pretty impressive) to edge out Fairway for the second year in a row. The intra-city competition is part of the chamber’s annual Golf Classic, which was held this year at Falcon Ridge.
