Prairie Village approves final Master Plan for Meadowbrook Park

The Prairie Village City Council on Monday approved Johnson County Park and Recreation District’s final Master Plan for the new public park on the Meadowbrook Country Club property.

The final plan included minor adjustments to the road alignment in the version that was presented to the council in November. The road that leads to the Roe Avenue exit now sits slightly further away from the eastern border of the property. As a result of the redirection of that road, planners have tweaked the location of a playground, sculpture garden and shelter near the Roe Avenue exit.

The park improvement will be paid for in part by proceeds from a tax increment financing (TIF) district approved by the city and county. Here’s a look at the parts of the park that will benefit from the TIF funds:
