After several years of intense struggle putting together the city’s budget among the revenue decreases of the Great Recession, Prairie Village enjoyed much smoother sailing piecing together its financial plan for 2015.
The city council earlier this week approved a 2015 budget that holds the city’s property tax rate, stormwater fee and solid waste fee steady from 2014.
The most notable changes to the city’s staffing for 2015 are the addition of a part time Codes Enforcement Officer, though the city will maintain the same FTE staffing level as it did in 2014.
The city will also be increasing the amount of money it dedicates to Capital Improvement Projects, planning for a $3.1 million transfer from its general fund. In 2014, the city transferred $2.5 million to CIP.
