Last week, the Cook Political report moved its prediction for the Kansas Governor’s race from “lean Republican” to “toss up.” The report noted that Kansas’s overwhelming Republican majority gives incumbent Gov. Sam Brownback hope even as his political fortunes flag. “This is a very Republican state, so (Gov. Sam) Brownback can’t be counted out entirely, but there is now enough evidence to show that Brownback is fighting for his political life,” the update read.
At the same time, Republican candidates for governor across the country are finding their chances buoyed by growing dissatisfaction with President Barack Obama.
If you had to guess today, who do you think will win the Kansas governor’s race in November? What are Sam Brownback’s strongest arguments for reelection? What are Paul Davis’s strongest arguments for replacing him?
