Nauser is chairman of the board of Cretcher Heartland in Overland Park where he has worked for 30 years. The company offers insurance, risk and business support services. Nauser is a volunteer and ambassador for Harvesters where he organizes food drives and speaks for the organization. He also is on the board of his Home Owners Association. He lives in Leawood with his wife, Julie, who is Dean at Research College of Nursing. All three of his children attended school in Johnson County.

“My family owes a great deal of our success to this community, and I’m proud of the investments we’ve made in Johnson County. My goal on the Commission is to ensure those same opportunities exist for young families just starting out and that we have a vision and a plan for the future that we can act upon,” Nauser said on his campaign Web site. “As a business executive in the county, I understand first-hand that our top-rated schools have provided us with a well-educated workforce and that the amenities and infrastructure in our community are invaluable to bringing new business to Johnson County. This is exactly what lured Cretcher to move from Jackson to Johnson County, bringing new jobs to our community.”

Nauser graduated from Notre Dame with a degree in business administration and accounting. His hobbies include cooking and flying.

The First District seat is being vacated by Ed Peterson who is running for county chair. Other candidates include former Mission Mayor Laura McConwell, Prairie Village Mayor Ron Shaffer, Alex DiCarlo of Prairie Village and Rachel Sciolaro of Leawood.
