EdgeJC, the young professionals group for the Northeast Johnson County Chamber of Commerce has selected Head Start of Shawnee Mission as its 2014 community partner. Each year, members of EdgeJC vote on a non-profit organization as a partner to serve the community.
Head Start of Shawnee Mission serves low income children and families in Johnson County. It provides early childhood education, health, mental health, disability, nutrition, parent involvement and social services support.
“We are thrilled to be selected…,” said Head Start Executive Director Terrie VanZandt-Travis. “We truly appreciate their support to our program and to the poverty-level children and families we serve.”
The EdgeJC group meets once per month with programming focused on education, building relationships and serving the community.
