MARC seeking input on Prairie Village LED streetlights

Share this story:

What do you think about those LED streetlights that have been installed in Prairie Village and around the metro? The Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) wants to know.

They are especially interested in residents’ thoughts about the light color, brightness and the impact on safety for drivers, pedestrians and cyclists. The Smart Lights for Smart Cities program has installed more than 5,000 of the high-efficiency lights through a federal grant program.

In Prairie Village there is a concentration of the lights between Roe and Nall from 63rd to 67th Streets and 71st to 79th Streets; also west of State Line between 75th and 79th. There are other areas of the city with the lights that are mapped out here .

MARC will hold a feedback meeting at 7 p.m. Jan. 23 and Prairie Village city hall to hear comments. You can also comment online here.
