The organizers of this year’s Prairie Village Jazz Festival have slated a lineup of both familiar and new faces for the 2012 show.

Grammy-award nominated singer Karrin Allyson, who was among the featured artists at the inaugural festival in 2010, will the the headliner at this year’s festival September 8. She’ll take the stage with the Karrin Allyson Quintet from 9:40-10:55 p.m.

The Mike Metheny Quartet and Bobby Watson had both been scheduled to appear at the festival in 2011, but never took the stage on account of the extensive damage caused by a storm as the first act was wrapping up. They’ll get another shot this year. The Metheny Quartet plays from 5:40-6:40 p.m. Bobby Watson will be up from 8:20-9:20 p.m.

Three acts new to the festival — Diverse, the Rich Wheeler Quartet, and Megan Birdsall — round out the lineup.

The event will start at 3 p.m. at Harmon Park.
