Prairie Village police seeking man who robbed Pride Cleaners on State Line Road

Prairie Village police today area looking for a man who robbed the Pride Cleaners near 79th Street and State Line Road in Prairie Village just before 7 p.m. Thursday. They released the following information and composite sketch:

On January 12, 2012 at approximately 6:51 pm, officers responded to an armed robbery that occurred at the Pride Cleaners 7910 State Line Road in Prairie Village, Kansas. The suspect entered the cleaners with his hand in his pocket gesturing that he had a gun and demanded money from a clerk. The clerk complied with his request and gave him an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect ordered the clerk to go in the back and then left on foot in an unknown direction. The suspect is described as a medium to light skinned black male, balding, 6-02, 200 pounds, approximately 50 years of age, wearing a black jacket, black shirt, and dark pants. No one was injured during the incident.

A composite photo of the suspect was generated and anyone with information on the crime should contact the Prairie Village Police Department at 913-642-6868 or contact the TIPS hotline. The investigation is currently ongoing.
