Prairie Village’s restaurant boom continues.
LANE4 Property Group announced Monday that SPIN! Neapolitan Pizza will be opening a new restaurant at Corinth Square in late 2012 or early 2013. The new restaurant will occupy 3,500 square feet — or just over a third — of the space currently occupied by CVS Pharmacy.
“Our tenants and shopping center patrons have been asking for a good pizza concept since the day we took over leasing and management of these centers approximately two years ago,” said Justin Kaufmann, who worked on the deal for LANE4.
Kaufmann said the new SPIN! will have a substantial hardscape area near its entrance, and the restaurant intends to use the space as a patio. The current CVS space will be divided into at least two new suites, so SPIN! and Salty Iguana will have a to-be-determined tenant between them. Construction on the SPIN! space itself is likely to begin in August 2012.
The restaurant will have seating for 100 inside, seating for 48 on the patio, and a bar area that will seat nine.
“We believe that Corinth is a great fit for SPIN!,” said co-owner Edwin Brownell. “We’ve had numerous requests from our guests for a Prairie Village location.”
CVS will be moving into a new facility on the site of the former Tippin’s Restaurant. Demolition of the Tippin’s building is expected to begin in mid-December with the new CVS building scheduled to be complete by summer 2012.
SPIN! currently has four metro locations, with another scheduled to open in Lenexa next summer.
